Alabama Issue / Shell Beach front
There was a time when I assumed that Perdido Go separated Alabama Position on the west facet and Florida Place on the east, but that would be far too uncomplicated. So I searched Alabama Position on Google Maps, and it appeared on the west side of the pass, just north of the bridge, which matches the geography properly enough, but not any of the seaside descriptions. Instead, I’ll defer to the park indication found on the eastern aspect of the bridge/go that plainly says – ‘Alabama Position.’
This ‘Alabama Point’ matches the common descriptions of a 6000-foot broad white sandy seaside with boardwalks that prospects as a result of the dunes to the ocean. I study many reviews of no cost parking, but the pay stations in the good deal say usually. I even browse one particular posting declaring they “loved the browsing,” but I’m having that with a grain of salt. My go-to resource, Magicseaweed, claims, “Alabama beach front breaks are abominably fickle” but adds that it is “one of the ideal alternatives on the Alabama mainland” – even even though Orange Beach is technically on an island. They also place Alabama Stage on the west side of the move, so there is that.
The name video game does not get any improved for the jetties, which are prime fishing spots. The jetties top into Perdido Pass are primary fishing spots. Although some do snorkel right here, we never suggest it thanks to the tides and anglers. Alabama Stage is on the west side of the pass and Florida point is on the east.
So let’s just say Alabama Issue, aka Florida Issue, aka Level East, is on the east side of the pass with the corresponding park indicator. This beach has a moderately sized paid parking great deal and the aforementioned 6000′ white sandy beach front. It also has restrooms, showers, and common meals trucks, including the super adorable Frost Bites that operates out of an Airstream. You will also be near to good dining at Cobalt, which has a kicking happy hour from 3-5, which you can catch if you time your beach front visit ideal.
Oh, what about Shell Beach? It is a little, compensated whole lot, 900′ past the entrance to Alabama Stage, with no features. It is close sufficient to be overflow parking for Alabama Point if you want it. It’s exactly where you will discover Alabama Issue Reef, a single of Gulf Shores’ artificial snorkeling and diving reefs. It is located a couple hundred feet offshore and marked on the beach by two poles with crimson lights.
