Two travel advisors win CLIA awards: Travel Weekly

CLIA has honored two travel brokers, giving Danny Genung its Travel Agency Innovator Award and naming Chris Grum its Elite Cruise Counsellor of the Calendar year.

The innovator award is given each and every calendar year to a CLIA member “that has shown ground breaking and visionary management in technique to marketing cruise travel, expanding their cruise journey product sales and supporting their affiliated journey advisors.”

Genung is the president and CEO of Harr Vacation in Redlands, Calif. He has radically grown Harr Travel’s YouTube account, which nowadays offers approximately 80,000 subscribers. He has populated it with ship excursions, place tours and more from the extra than 150 cruises he has individually taken. 

In the earlier 18 months by itself, CLIA explained, Genung’s agency has filmed much more than 50 ships and resorts, with nearly 500 room and suite excursions.

Grum used 25 years as a radio persona, spending the previous 10 years of that career as section of a person of radio’s longest-running morning shows. He often designed time for vacation, and gave spouse and children and good friends journey tips. 

As his radio vocation wrapped up, he made a decision that operating a travel agency was his following transfer. Leading Custom Travel, in Houston suburb Iowa Colony, was born.

Today, Grum is a CLIA-accredited Elite Cruise Counsellor, Luxurious Cruise Professional and Travel Agency Executive, amid other accreditations. He sits on various boards with the affiliation. His approaching e-book, “The Journey Advisor’s Handbook,” is scheduled to be posted in spring 2023.

CLIA’s Elite Cruise Counsellor of the Calendar year is presented to a CLIA member who has achieved possibly Elite Cruise Counsellor or Elite Cruise Counsellor Scholar standing, “the pinnacle of CLIA certification.” The member should also meet up with gross sales needs.
